Refugee Week

Last week was Refugee Week, which was part of our whole school approach to understanding the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. The children learnt about the plight of refugees fleeing from war Syria. The children wrote poems, made little tents, on which they wrote messages of hope, and they wrote quest story based on the life of a girl called Aya.

Unicorn Theatre

Last Friday we went on a trip to the Unicorn Theatre to see a marvellous play called ‘Septimus Bean and his Amazing Machine’. The children loved it!

UNICEF Day for Change

This year UNICEF’s Day for Change was a great success. All the money we raised will help children in emergencies. Thank you so much for taking the time to get involved – and for helping us protect children in danger.

The money you raised will:

  • give a child affected by violence a safe place to play
  • help a child affected by disaster get back to school
  • protect a child from the cold
  •  save a child in a war-torn country from disease
  • provide clean water to a refugee family

Oliver Class Assembly

A HUGE well done to everyone in Oliver Class for such a sensational performance of our class assembly of Robin Hood.
